endotherm

Endotherms are warm-blooded organisms, or organisms that maintains its body temperature through metabolism. Compared to ectotherms, or cold-blooded organism, endotherms have more mitochondria per cells to enable them to produce more heat by increasing the rate of their metabolism. Mammals are an example of endotherms.
