gibberellin

Gibberellin, or GAs, are plant hormones responsible for the regulation of plant growth and other developmental processes, such as flowering and sex expression. It is involved with breaking dormancy after the winter is over and returning the plant back to its original state before the winter, and it is also responsible for germination, the process in which the plant emerge from the seeds or spores and begin growth. More gibberellin are produced when the plant is exposed to cold.
