aposematic coloring

Aposematic coloring is an anti-predator adaptation that serves as a warning sign for any potential predators. Some species of rainforest frogs have aposematic coloring to warn predators of its poisonous constitution and to dissuade them from eating it. Pterois, or more commonly known as the lion fish, is a genus of poisonous marine fish characterized by their aposematic colorings. The splashback poison dart frog is brightly colored frog that is extremely poisonous.
