endosperm

The endosperm is the tissue that is produced in the seeds of many flowering plants. It is highly nutritious to humans because it could contain starch, oils, or proteins. Wheat endosperm is ground into flour for bread and the endosperm of coconuts is the white, solid part on the inside.
