chitin

Chitin is a fibrous substance made up of polysaccharides and it is the main components of the cell walls of fungi, the exoskeleton of arthropods and insects, and the beaks and internal shells of cephalopods. It also has some industrial uses such as a binder in dyes, fabrics, and adhesives.
